Art has always been part of my life.
I take inspiration from people, places, and color, capturing moments that shape my work. I explore different styles and techniques, always learning and evolving. Art, for me, is about connection – when a piece resonates with someone, it becomes part of their story too.
background
I’ve been painting for over 20 years, but art has always been part of my life. My great-grandfather and grandfather were both professional artists, and my mum often sketched for quiet and respite. Creativity was always there, shaping how I saw the world.
Inspiration comes from everywhere – people, places, conversations, shifting trends, and, most of all, color. I take photos, fill journals, and collect moments that later find their way into my work. I don’t confine myself to a single style or medium. Instead, I explore, experiment, and learn from other artists, past and present. My work has been described as fluid, current, and unexpected, which feels just right – I like to follow where the creative process leads.
While I’ve studied business at the Universities of Cape Town, Stellenbosch, and Berkeley, my true art education has come from years of learning under incredible teachers across South Africa. I’ve exhibited my work for the past decade, and it’s been a joy to see my pieces find homes across the country.
For me, art is about expression – not just mine, but yours too. When someone connects with a piece, it becomes part of their story, their space. That exchange is something I treasure.
